The Cuban Minister of Communications met several Cyberspace managerial officials from the Peoples Republic of China

Beijing, April 25th, 2019. The Vice-minister of the Cyberspace Management Office of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Yang Xiaowi, welcomed, in the afternoon, the Cuban Communications Minister, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella.

This meeting is part of the extensive agenda of the Cuban minister related to his participation in the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which is taking place in Beijing, from April 25th to 27th.

The meeting of the two officials was an appropriate occasion to review the state of the cooperation between both countries concerning peaceful cyberspace usage and protection.

During the meeting, which was held in an environment of fraternization and agreement regarding the strategy for the safe development of communications and the use of the Internet. Moreover, both leaders also vowed to deepen bilateral collaboration in this area and especially to update the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by both countries in 2014.

The meeting was also attended by other officials from the General Office for Cyberspace Management of China, by the Director of International Relations of the Ministry of Communications of Cuba, Isabel Greenup and by officials of the Cuban Embassy in the People's Republic of China.
