Second Workshop of the Sectoral Program for Science, Technology and Innovation in Telecommunications

On January 11, the first day of the 2nd Workshop of the Telecommunications Science, Technology and Innovation Sector Program of the Ministry of Communications was held in the presence of Mayra Arevich Marín, Minister of Communications; representatives of the universities that teach Telecommunications Engineering (Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría,” Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas - UCLV, University of Pinar del Río “Hermanos Saíz de Montes de Oca”) and of the companies of the IT and Communications Business Group (GEIC).

The head of the program, Dr. Sc. Caridad Anias, explained that each project will present the results obtained, the Telecommunications research center of CUJAE will be visited and the National Commission of the Telecommunications career will meet.

Today's program included the presentation of the following projects: System for prediction and warning of interruption to communications due to anomalies in propagation conditions. E-commerce powered by emerging technologies. Development and testing of Virtual Network Functions (VNF) using open source platforms. Model for the management of Information Technology infrastructures. IoT solution to support agriculture and clean room automation of the National Center for Laboratory Animal Production. Service network infrastructure under Naas-based model. Automated radio spectrum monitoring system.

The opening remarks highlighted the importance of the sector program to achieve the country's digital transformation goals.

The second and final session of the workshop will take place tomorrow, January 12.
