Havana, September 28 (ACN)
In October, the Scientific and Technological Park (PCT) from Havana, which is located at the Computer Science University (UCI), will soon sign its first execution contract and move into the main building that was made available for that organization in campus.

That information was exclusively given to the Cuban News Agency by Rafael Luis Torralbas Ezpeleta, president of that commercial company. He also explained that the PCT has been prepared to face the countrys epidemiological situation, especially the one that exists in Havana; in spite of that, the entity is fully operational.

The construction of its headquarters is nearly over, and it was delayed because the investing process took place at the same time that the city returned to the phase of autochthonous transmission of COVID-19.

We have 26 projects so far, which include solutions for the industry, the health sector, the educational field, and for platforms of e-Commerce and online services. Likewise, several international and national companies, universities and other organizations have shown their interest in the opportunities offered by the park, said Torralbas Ezpeleta.

This new companys goal is to promote scientific and technological development, to foster innovation and knowledge transfer with the aim of contributing toward the countrys economic and social growth through the new information and communication technologies.

According to its president, one of the strengths of this initiative is that it will establish bonds between the Computer Science University, and other higher education centers, research institutions, companies and markets. That is why the park will work as a bridge between the academic world and the business one, which requires the scientific knowledge generated at higher education institutions.

After the legal standards that regulate the functioning, organization, compensation and financing sources of those organizations were approved in 2019, the Society of the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana was officially established last January, and it was given the responsibility of managing projects related to information and communication technologies.
