Minister of Communications presides over meeting on the progress of the computerization program

The Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella presided over the meeting with Vice Ministers and equivalent positions in charge of Computerization in National Bodies, OACE (Institutions from the State’s Central Administration) and Entities. The meeting addressed the work projections in computerization for 2021, in relation to government and e-Commerce and the strengthening of the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba.

In relation to e-Government, he referred to making progress in its implementation with a growing participation of the national industry of computer applications and services.
He remarked the priority of computerizing processes, increasing the publication of online services, concluding the computerization of the Public Registry of natural persons, as well as advancing in the usability of public portals on the Internet and promoting the creation of content.
On e-Commerce, expanding e-Payment capabilities, as well as implement incentives and bonuses.
Regarding the strengthening of the Union of Cuban Computer Scientists, actions seek to consolidate the union’s membership and grassroots delegations and to achieve greater involvement in local and branch development projects.
In the second part of the meeting, the e-Government Observatory of the School of Communication of the University of Havana was presented.  This observatory is an information system of strategic scope with the purpose of managing information that proves the degree of development of e-Government in Cuba, as well as international trends and good practices on the subject.
