The The Minister of Communications checked the measures to face the meteorological event

At the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and via videoconference with the territories and companies of the System, the Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella checked the measures to face the tropical depression ETA.

In the meeting, the general and particular measures were specified, among them those related to the protection and dismantling of antennas, battery charging, transfer of means, protection of equipment and evacuation of facilities.

Etecsa, as part of the actions enabled a unique phone number 18899 with the aim of keeping the population updated on the trajectory of the meteorological event. It also allowed people to access their Provincial Radio Station and the service is free.

In the checkup, the forces and means to be taken into account for the recovery stage were identified.

It was reported that more than 500 radio amateurs were ready with their equipment.

Another measure was the protection of mail packages that are in the classification centers of Correos de Cuba.

The Minister emphasized that the stage of confrontation and recovery from the meteorological event must be undertaken taking into account all the epidemiological measures.
