Amidst the complex epidemiological situation faced by the country, the Joven Club of Computer Science and Electronics continues to strengthen its work in order to expand the computerization process of Cuban society and to support essential areas of economic development, that’s how Pablo Julio Pla Feria, president of the Joven Club, explained it to Radio Rebelde.

He mentioned that, among the traditional and new services of the entity, which have been added to meet the needs of the population, the use of La Mochila stands out, which is very useful for activities related to the educational sector, since it contains information from the universities for the new distance learning courses.

“It is included in the information of La Mochila and it reaches all the Joven Clubs in the country. We have today 644 Joven Club facilities, many of them are closed because of the current situation but the copy of La Mochila and the copy of information is allowed, it can be done.”

The institution has also become involved in the new concepts in which our country has advanced, such as e-commerce and e-government, infrastructure and cybersecurity. Courses on the responsible use of social networks have also been developed.

Regarding e-commerce, the entity has accompanied Xetid-IT Enterprise for the Defense Sector- in the implementation of the QR code in the bodegas of the Ministry of Internal Trade for electronic payment of products.
The official said that the Joven Clubs have been implementing the payment with this code, in addition to a joint work with ETECSA to expand the payment by Transfermóvil in certain institutions. Distance learning courses and educational robotics have also been part of the work of the Joven Club of Computer Science and Electronics.

"Another area where we have grown is in distance learning courses. We have a platform called Cursad, a Joven Club platform, which allows us to offer courses throughout the country. There we have also signed agreements with several entities. We have worked in recent months, especially during the pandemic, on the issues of educational robotics, that is, in creating facilities for children and awakening their interest in the development of robotics".

Joven Clubs are a knowledge-building entity and they work toward concrete objectives and goals so as to accompany a correct and adequate implementation of the computerization process of Cuban society.
