The second edition of the International Congress Cibersociedad 2019, was inaugurated this Monday afternoon at the Meliá Marina Varadero Hotel. This is an event organized by the Informatics Union of #Cuba (UIC), and it is sponsored by an important group of Cuban entities and attended by approximately 600 delegates and guests from 10 countries.

Attending the opening of the event were Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, minister of Communications, #Cuba; Ailín Febles Estrada, president of UIC; and Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, vice-minister of Communications. The first vice-president of the Cuban Informatics Union, Maria Esther Alfonso Suárez, delivered the opening remarks of the event.

The Doctor of Science, Tatiana Delgado Fernández, vice-president of the UIC and president of the Committee of the Cibersociedad 2019 Program, gave the master lecture "Enabling digital transformation".

Mr. Joselit Ramirez Camacho, vice-minister of Industry and National Production and president of the Superintendency of Cryptoactives and Related Activities of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, presented the master lecture "The Petro in the digital economy context".

Afterward, the Round Table "Enabling digital transformation" was held, moderated by the experts Armando Estévez, director of Technomatics; Alina Ruiz, director of Computerization at the University of Havana; and Alejandro Roxete, director of the CUJAE Doctoral Center.

Finally, the Doctor of Science, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, minister of Communications, officially opened the event.

Cibersociedad 2019 will be in session until next Friday and it will feature, during those five days, a civil society forum, master lectures, workshops and panels, a round of sponsors and a fair of innovative solutions. These events will exhibit the best experiences and good practices that contribute to promoting the Computerization Policy and the digital transformation of Cuban society.

Correos de Cuba is represented at Cibersociedad 2019 by the engineers Alain Alea Boffill, specialist of the Main Postal Technological Center and developer of the website of Correos de Cuba www.correos.cu and its  application for mobile devices with Android operating system, a platform that has already consolidated the third stage of Electronic Government and that provides electronic commerce of national money orders; and Julio Quial Sotolongo, director of Informatics of the Messaging and International Exchange Company of this Business Group, who will present a paper with one of the projects of digital transformation that this entity carries out in their postal operational processes.
