The 9th Workshop on Citizen Attention, Consumer Protection, Institutional Communication and Quality of the Ministry of Communications (MINCOM) CALIPROT 2019, began on Tuesday at the Miramar Trade Center in Havana.

Omar Pérez Salomón, an official of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Ana Julia Marine, and Rafael Solís, Vice-Ministers of Communications, attended the inauguration. The opening remarks were given by Carlos Asencio Valerino, president of the Correos de Cuba (Cuban Post) Business Group (GECC).

On the first day of the Plenary Session of CALIPROT 2019, letters of intent were signed by the Ministry of Communications, the Public Administration Research Center and the School of Communications of the University of Havana.

The conferences "Postal Services in Cuba: An old high-impact service", "Modernization of public administration and computerization of society", "Services to citizens: An institutional communications process?" and "Update on the implementation of the Social Communication Policy of the State and the Government", "Havana's 500th Anniversary, Real and Marvelous", will be given by the lecturers José Manuel Valido Rodriguez, Noris Tamayo Pineda, Hilda Saladrigas Medina, and Elsa Agüero Escobar respectively.

CALIPROT 2019 sessions will continue until Thursday, October 31. This year's event has as its slogan "For a more detailed approach in services to citizens," and is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the establishment of Havana and Cuban Postal Services.

CALIPROT 2019 began aimed at improving civic services.

The meeting will be ratified as a space to socialize good practices, share experiences and contribute to the improvement and integrated management of processes, focused on citizens.
