Institutional Communication Office of the Ministry of Communications

As a tribute to the 124th Anniversary of the death in combat of our Apostle, José Martí Pérez, the young people of the Ministry of Communications accompanied by the Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella visited the Bosque Martiano Ariguanabo.

A unique opportunity for the young members of the Base Committee of the UJC of the organization and the youth universe to have a tour around the Bosque Martiano Ariguanabo alongside its creator, Rafael Rodriguez Ortiz, Felo, and with them, the Minister.

This visit to the Ariguanabo Forest is part of the necessary connection of the Base Committee on the occasion of its Balance Assembly and also an opportunity to learn about the Martiano Forest from its creator and committed guardian who shared some anecdotes about the origin of the place, born of a garbage dump, about the effort to plant all the species of trees mentioned by José Martí in his Campaign Diary, among them the palm, mango, seedling, atheje, nije, jatía, yamagua and caguairán.

The space was appropriate to make the first-day postal cancellation for the 25th anniversary of the Bosque Martiano del Ariguanabo. The issue has 6 stamps already and a miniature sheet with some of the plants cited by Martí in his Campaign Diary.
