Havana, Dec 18 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba today made the commemorative cancellation of a postal stamp for the 60th anniversary of its creation, to be held on December 23.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina, said that the Cuban Foreign Ministry was created with the strategic vision of solidarity, anti-imperialism and respect among nations.

"On December 23, 1959, the nascent Cuban Revolution, headed by Fidel Castro, founded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today a genuine symbol of the island's foreign policy internationally," he recalled.

He also highlighted the significant role played by Foreign Minister of Dignity, Raúl Roa, and the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, in positioning Cuban diplomacy at the highest levels on the international front.

Also, he said, as Raúl Roa said, "it is the trench of Cuba and the diplomatic shield of the Revolution."

The cancellation was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, the first vice minister of the Ministry of Communications, Wilfredo González, and the president of the Correos de Cuba Business Group, Carlos Asencio.

In addition, leaders of several Cuban organizations and institutions and a representation of Minrex officials participated.
