The Official Gazette Gazette No.39 of the Republic of Cuba publishes today, May 29th, 2019, the Resolutions 98 and 99 of 2019 from the Ministry of Communications on the Regulations for Private Data Networks and the use of High-Speed Wireless Systems in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands.

These provisions enable and regulate the creation of private data networks for natural persons in addition to legal persons.

The regulations will become effective 60 days after the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. From this date on, network owners have 60 more days to formalize their network according to the requirements established by the standards.

These regulations contribute to the informatization of society, to the well-being of citizens, to the sovereignty of the country, to the avoidance of interference in the radio spectrum and to the prevention of the harmful effects of non-ionizing radiation. They help increase and create communication channels among people and the access of citizens to new technologies.
