New Delhi, March 29, (Prensa Latina) India and Cuba agreed to collaborate on digital transformation after a meeting between the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, and the Deputy Minister of Communications, Grisel Reyes.

The Caribbean country's official, who is visiting here leading a delegation of specialists, told Prensa Latina in New Delhi that the representatives of both countries identified important collaboration opportunities for digital transformation.

Reyes pointed out that the parties seek to share open source platforms to implement government services, training and education projects in emerging technologies, as well as the creation of a high-performance computing center, among other initiatives.

"It was a fruitful exchange that will undoubtedly lead to the strengthening of the relationship between the two nations in the information and communications technologies sector," she said.

Likewise, the Cuban Vice Minister of Communications and the experts accompanying her had a meeting with the Board of Directors of the National Association of Software and Services Companies.

Earlier, at a forum in New Delhi hosted by the Economic Trade Organization of India at the headquarters of the Federation of Exporters of the South Asian country, the Cuban official highlighted the possibilities of joint work between companies of the two countries to enter the technology market in Latin America.

"The Indian companies are top class and we intend to complement, integrate and articulate ourselves based on the potential to train personnel in the information technology sector," she said.

Areas of interest include artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, among other sectors in which both parties could work together without difficulty.

The Cuban delegation is also participating in the Indiasoft 2023 international information and communications technology exhibition and conference, which is a favorite meeting place for Indian technology developers and consumers from around the world.

Considered the largest technology event, the forum is attended by delegates from more than 60 countries and 1,500 national electronics, hardware and information technology exhibitors.
