Granma is chosen to host the main celebrations for the Communications Workers' Day

The members of the Ministry of Communications in Granma obtained the status of integral in the contest for the day of the worker of the sector, which is celebrated every February 24.

This result places them at the top nationally and is proof of the work of the men and women of this organization in the development of the economy of each entity and in the fulfillment of the indicators of the union movement.

This was stated by telephone by Marisol Fuentes Ferrer, secretary of the National Union of Communications, Informatics and Electronics Workers (Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de las Comunicaciones la Informática y la Electrónica).
Fuentes Ferrer said that due to the necessary social distancing measures enforced to counter Covid-19, the national ceremony for February 24 will not be held in Granma and the province will be recognized in the celebration that will take place on that same day, through videoconference.

Erlin Rondón Cedeño, secretary of the provincial bureau of the Union of Communications, Informatics and Electronics Workers in Granma, said that this is the first time that this province has obtained this important recognition and they are celebrating it with the commitment to fulfill the tasks scheduled for the current work stage.

The workers of Communications in Granma, deserving of the national headquarters for February 24, celebrate with the improvement of the radio and television signal in intricate communities, the digitalization of several post office windows and the installation of new fixed telephony services and 4G radio base to improve communications via Internet.
