ETECSA offers new Virtual Private Server leasing service

The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) is offering a new Virtual Private Server (VPS) leasing service to host websites and software applications.

According to an official note issued by ETECSA, VPS leasing allows clients to access virtual servers on demand, with the use of an instant catalog that includes a list of predefined services with an operating system and specific applications pre-installed and configured.

It explains that the VPS service is offered to Cuban residents over 18 years of age interested in hosting and managing their web pages or contents of their interest, software and application developers.

As conditions of the service, ETECSA details that the maximum number of VPS to be provided will be nine; for the use of the service the client must have a Nauta e-mail account, which will be used for authentication in the management interface, and receive information related to billing and service.

As for fees, a one-time subscription fee of 250 pesos will be charged.

A Virtual Private Server allows hosting websites and/or software applications, especially web ones, and has the advantages of exclusivity in the use of resources, privacy and security, scalability, customization and pay-per-use.
