Cuban Ministry of Communications receives Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich Marín, met on January 16 with H.E. Mr. Meisam Abedi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is visiting the island accompanied by a delegation of Iranian government officials and businessmen.

The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mr. Seyed Mohammad Hadi Sobhani, Ambassador of Iran in Havana, and the Cuban side was represented by deputy ministers and executives of the Ministry of Communications of Cuba (Mincom). Also in attendance was the Executive President of ETECSA, Tania Velázquez Rodríguez.

During the meeting, the status of bilateral cooperation relations was reviewed, focusing mainly on the identification of concrete actions to be carried out between both ministries in order to comply with the agreement on Telecommunications/ICT and Postal Services that was signed between the Mincom and the Iranian counterpart ministry in June 2023.

The Iranian Deputy Minister expressed his country's willingness to strengthen cooperation ties with Cuba in the area of ICTs.

Meanwhile in the official account in X of the Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marin, wrote: We received Meisam Abedi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Mr. Seyed Mohammad Hadi Sobhani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the delegation accompanying them.
