The Cuban Minister of Communications participated in the Digital Road Sub forum in the context of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

Beijing, April 25th, 2019. As part of the activities that are being carried out by the Cuban delegation attending the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the Cuban Communications Minister, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, participated in the Digital Road Sub-forum. In this sub-forum he shared the experiences on the implementation of the Chinese TV Standard in Cuba. In addition, he also spoke about the challenges and the perspectives brought about by this process.

The Cuban minister explained, in detail, the experience of Cuba in the implementation process of said standard, which has allowed the Caribbean island to reach a 70% digital TV coverage for its population.

The Digital Road Sub-forum was presided over by Lin Nianxiu, Vice-president of the National Commission for the Development and Improvement of the People's Republic of China. Moreover, it was attended by a significant representation of delegates from all over the world, an appropriate opportunity for the Cuban minister to encourage the rest of the countries to be part, together, of the Belt and Road Initiative when it comes to the deployment of digital TV.
