On April 25th, Cuba will celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day. A true festivity of technologies at the service of children. The main event related to this holiday will take place in Havana, at the facilities of Segurmática, a company that is associated to the Informatics and Communications Business Group (GEIC).

During this day, girls and teenagers can participate in various activities, including tours around Segurmática. Visiting several areas like the ideas incubator, the anti-virus engine, the computer security office, the servers, the laboratory, and the support and commercial areas. In additions, a conversation will be held between them and women that represent the ICT sector in Cuba, among them Mayra Arevich Marín, president of Etecsa and Ariadne Plasencia Castro, vice president of GEIC (Informatics and Communications Business Group).

Among the institutions in charge of this event are the Ministry of Communications, the Informatics and Communications Business Group, ETECSA, CALISOFT, LACETEL, and the Informatics interest groups at schools.
