With the support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Ministry of Communications of Cuba, Accessible Americas promotes digital inclusion and the empowerment of all people regardless of age, gender, ability or geographic location.

According to the official program, ITU celebrates this year the tenth anniversary of Accessible Americas, the main regional platform of the entity focused on ICT accessibility.

Strengthening knowledge in ITU member countries regarding digital inclusion policies and strategies and the exchange of best practices related to ensuring accessibility to telecommunication products and services are the objectives of the meeting.

The website also explains that providing the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge on accessibility projects and initiatives related to current technologies in the Americas region is an essential action of the meeting.

The Accessible Americas 2023 Regional Event will include a space for local sign language interpretation and will provide an opportunity for training in ICT accessibility in order for the continent to continue its development in this area.
