Cuba attends the 3rd Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union, which will take place at the Geneva International Conference Center, Switzerland. From September 24th to 26th, 2019.

The Cuban delegation is presided over by Rafael Solís Martínez, Vice-minister of Communications. Additionally, the Director of Regulations of the Ministry of Communications, Wilfredo López Rodríguez; the President of the Correos de Cuba Business Group (GECC), Carlos Jesús Ascencio Valerino; the Director of Quality and Development of the GECC, Raúl Marcial Cortina Parapar and the Director of International Relations of the GECC, Reinaldo Florentino Rodríguez Lavado will also participate.

The main topic of the Congress is the analysis and the decision-making process in relation to the terminal dues remuneration system for small parcel shipments. In this context, the Cuban delegation will advocate for the defense and protection of the least developed countries, preserving the principles of the Universal Postal Service (UPS).
