We, the communicators, begin the Communicator's Day with the congratulations of our Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marín:

Dear workers:

The Communications, Informatics and Electronics Workers' Day is celebrated in commemoration of the first official transmission of Radio Rebelde in the Sierra Maestra, on February 24, 1958, made by Commander Ernesto Che Guevara.

The role played by the workers of the sector, historically, has demonstrated the permanent will to set a daily example of resistance, continuous improvement, creativity, intelligence and commitment to the Revolution and the people. For this reason, this February 24, we would like to extend to them our most sincere congratulations and thank them for the commitment with which they assume each day.

A very complex period has passed with the scourge of the pandemic in the country, but with the dedication and unity of our workers and cadres, especially our young people, we contributed to its confrontation, new services and facilities were created for the population, as well as the support to the tasks in the isolation centers, in the hospitals, and in the insurance in the red zone.

Nor has the extreme aggressiveness of the U.S. government, which has kept intact the 243 measures against our homeland taken by its former president, been able to break the firmness, determination and resistance of our workers and cadres, in order to develop technologies to increase the welfare of the Cuban population.

Much remains to be done to ensure that the use of ICTs contributes to greater economic growth, energizes processes and sectors, and creates new opportunities for the country's productive sector, so we must continue to develop the process of computerization, move towards Digital Transformation and at the same time raise the level of cybersecurity.

We will continue to count on you for the great challenges that lie ahead, confident that with your commitment and dedication we will achieve greater goals.

Communicators for a developing society!

Best regards,

Mayra Arevich Marin
