Counting on the presence of Wilfredo Gonzáles Vidal, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications, René Fernández, Director of Standardization of the National Standardization Office, and other executives, on May 16th was held the work balance of the Technical Committee for Standardization Information Technologies of 2018, CTN 18, which is directed by the Ministry of Communications with the guidance of CITMA.   

Among the topics discussed during the meeting were the work results of the CTN 18, and the 2019 projections, its President, Eng. José Manuel Santos, and the presidents of the three subcommittees that compose it, MsC. Yoandy Lazo, Eng. Juan Fals and Lic. Guillermo Wood, in the fields of software engineering, IT security techniques and computer management quality.

The country already has a normative base made up by 30 standards, in the aforementioned areas, which allows starting this year the preparation of certification processes for software products and computer applications, particularly mandatory for exportable products (under the standard NC ISO / IEC 2510), as well as for IT security management systems (under the standard NC ISO / IEC 27001) and for computer management quality (under the standard NC ISO / IEC 20000-1) of any company that is willing to demonstrate its full performance.
 
Members from the following organizations participated in the balance meeting: Citma, BCC, Mintur and Mincom, as well as the entities Calisoft, Segurmática, Citmatel, DATYS, XETID, Desoft, AZCUBA, DATAZUCAR, Tecnomática, AICROS, and OSRI.
