On September 27, 2019, the fourth edition of the Forum for Entrepreneurs and Leaders in the Information Technology field, FELTi 2019, concluded with the presence of the Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella.

This event is organized by the Informatics and Communication Business Group (GEIC) to establish and strengthen work networks with ICT leaders. It also seeks to provide spaces for the exchange among attendees by identifying problems in the sector in Latin America and projecting joint strategies for solutions; socializing success stories of participating entities; recognizing the results of excellence achieved by companies in the Latin American software industry. As well as to promote collaboration with Latin American countries, using the links among companies, in the formation of an IT market with its own capacity and competitiveness; and to insert Cuban computer industry companies with export potential in the Latin American market and develop activities, as part of the program of the event, that allow foreign participants to know the history, customs, and culture of the host country, Cuba.

Grisel Reyes León at the closure of the event said: In general there have been convergent points in the debates, the call for the use of artificial intelligence and block-chain; the interest in developing an Odoo community in the country to strengthen and enhance open-source platforms; the importance of the role played by decision-makers in defining and establishing policies and frameworks that enable the implementation of technological trends analyzed, as well as the need for entrepreneurs to prioritize the development of the best and newest solutions, as well as their customer orientation; The promotion of a culture of integration in the face of the market; seeking complementarity in order to satisfy the demand for computer solutions for science, health, tourism, citizen attention, electronic government, information security, technological sovereignty, among other spheres; the participation of natural figures in the software industry, maintain permanent spaces for exchange and promote maximum use of young professionals.

FELTi 2019 ended with the attendance of seven business entities from five countries (Canada, China, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela), and 52 national entities, in addition to other Cuban and foreign organizations and institutions that accompanied us as guests. The total number of participants was 250.
