The conclusion of agreements between Indian and Cuban institutions was one of the highlights of the business delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Communications Wilfredo Gonzalez.
During a forum between businesspeople from both countries, organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce based in New Delhi, the University of Computer Science (UCI) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration in education and research.

Also, on behalf of the UCI, Yaimí Trujillo, exchanged another memorandum of understanding for collaboration with the company Agni Interactive Ignite Creativity, in the entertainment and video game industry.

First Vice-titular González, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas and other guests such as Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner of Seychelles, witnessed the formalities together with executives of renowned companies of the Asian country that showed interest in the potential of the island.

In a telephone conversation, Cuban Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich addressed a message to those present, in which she thanked the Indian and Cuban entrepreneurs for their participation in the forum, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, organizer of the event, and the government of India for the current edition of the International Conference on Electronics and Information Technology, IndiaSoft.

She noted that Cuba has been participating for three years in the prestigious event that ends tomorrow in New Delhi and stressed that IndiaSoft has become a platform to join efforts and advance projects to achieve an inclusive and connected world.

Arevich expressed her conviction of the satisfactory outcome of the Cuban delegation in India with an impact on the development objectives of the telecommunications industry, information technology and postal activity of the island.

Earlier, the First Deputy Minister of Communications described the interactive dialogue between businesspeople as the main activity of his delegation and considered it a great opportunity to start a long road of commercial relations in the sector.

In his presentation, Wilfredo González explained that one of the advantages of doing business in Cuba is its geographical position, since it allows relations with the nations of the American continent with which, in turn, the Caribbean island has excellent political ties, for the most part.

On the other hand, he pointed out, Cuba's main strength is the training of human resources. "Specialties related to telecommunications and IT, and science careers are studied in all the provinces of the country," he said.

He stressed as another element to highlight the opening of the island from the economic point of view and in that sense the creation of private companies.

González said that this allows seeking complementarity and synergies between state and private companies, research centers and universities. He also considered that there are different business models that can be agreed between the two parties, including foreign investment.
